Jeff’s Journey – The Vision Behind Newspec
Jeff Naish, the technician and innovator behind Newspec, is the driving force behind the development of the Newspec Electrical PTO system. His journey started with a simple but powerful observation: milk tankers were idling for hours during collection, wasting fuel and contributing to unnecessary emissions.
As a seasoned technician, Jeff saw firsthand the inefficiency and environmental impact of this process. At a time when battery and EV technology were advancing rapidly, and lithium solutions were becoming increasingly viable, Jeff began asking: Could this process be electrified?
His vision was clear—eliminate the need for idling diesel engines and create a more sustainable solution for milk tankers. This led Jeff on a mission to develop a zero-emission, electric power take-off (ePTO) system, specifically designed for the demanding needs of New Zealand’s dairy industry.
Years of testing, refinement, and collaboration with industry leaders resulted in the creation of the Newspec Electrical PTO system, a self-sufficient, battery-powered solution that’s transforming milk tanker operations. With Hilton Haulage as one of the early adopters, Jeff’s solution is already driving significant fuel savings, reducing emissions, and setting a new standard for cleaner, more efficient operations.
